Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Uncle Rico!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rico lands with a shot to the body.
Drillo throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Drillo throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Rico throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

A shot to the body from Drillo misses
and Rico counters with a straight right hand.
Drillo throws a lazy right hand but Rico sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Rico feints and as Drillo raises his hands in defense, Rico changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Drillo wants to get back to his feet but Rico is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rico accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Rico has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Drillo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Drillo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

and Rico counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Drillo is breathing heavily.
Drillo looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Drillo wants to land a leg kick but Rico is out of range.
Rico is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Drillo rather than just go for the knockout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rico works Drillo's body with a nice hook.
Drillo takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Rico lands a glancing blow to the side of Drillo's head.
Droom Drillo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rico fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Drillo looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Drillo with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Rico to score with a decent uppercut.

Drillo drops his hands momentarily and Rico takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rico ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Oh Drillo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Rico misses with a takedown attempt - Drillo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Rico drops Drillo with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Drillo! Rico dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
