Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Martin O Neill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Logan Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). O Neill comes to the cage accompanied by Sing for the moment - Eminem. Martin O Neill has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Martin O Neill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Logan Evans!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Columbo Gatti and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
O Neill slips under a jab from Evans.
Evans lands a jab to O Neill's midsection.
O Neill thows a left - swing and a miss!
Evans thows a body shot but no joy.
Evans will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
O Neill dodges the punch combination from Evans.
Evans lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but O Neill circles away quickly and effectively.
Evans just misses with a punch to the body.
O Neill avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Evans misses with a few strikes there.
O Neill waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Evans.

Evans misses with a body shot.
O Neill misses with a jab, cross combination.
O Neill throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Evans.
Evans ducks down and throws a hook to the body but O Neill moves away.
A left and a right from O Neill both land. Nice combination.

O Neill shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
O Neill stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Evans swivels though and keeps the full guard.
O Neill is pushing down on Evans's leg trying to pass to half guard. Evans is fighting to maintain full guard but O Neill has managed to sneak the leg through.
O Neill lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
O Neill trying to control the action but Evans is working from the bottom.
Evans moves into full guard.
O Neill has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Evans keeping moving, preventing O Neill from controlling successfully.
Evans is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Evans preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Evans manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. O Neill manages to get himself to full guard.
O Neill looking to hit a scissor sweep but Evans is one step ahead there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Evans is looking to work some ground and pound but O Neill has wrist control.

O Neill escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Evans gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now O Neill is on top in guard.

O Neill is pushing down on Evans's leg trying to pass to half guard. Evans is fighting to maintain full guard but O Neill has managed to sneak the leg through.

Evans is refusing to be controlled, as O Neill sits in half guard.
O Neill is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Evans wants to hold on but O Neill pushes him away.
O Neill wants to control the pace but Evans is squirming around nicely.

O Neill is working for a guillotine from mount but Evans frees his head quite easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

O Neill goes for an armbar but Evans turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Evans.
O Neill is breathing heavily.
Evans looking to pass the guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Martin O Neill will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Evans fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Evans is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by O Neill.
O Neill swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
O Neill lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Evans moves out of range as O Neill strikes.
Evans misses the shot to the body.
Evans takes one to the chin there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Evans missing with a left hand there. O Neill was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
O Neill looks to land a left hand but Evans moved out of range nicely.
Logan Evans is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

O Neill wants to take a breather but Evans is having none of it.

O Neill drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and O Neill jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Evans is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but O Neill has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Evans swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and O Neill counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Evans falls off balance throwing a combination
and O Neill connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Evans misses with a body punch

Evans tries to move into range but O Neill moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

and O Neill counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Evans displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as O Neill throws out the jab.

Evans thuds a left hand into O Neill's body.
Evans takes one to the chin there.

O Neill fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Evans sprawls well initially but O Neill persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
O Neill looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

O Neill is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Evans is just riding it out for now. O Neill eventually gives up the hold.
O Neill tries to pass to full mount but Evans defends it.

O Neill wants to work for an arm triangle but Evans is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

O Neill is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Evans has managed to free his arm - good work.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
O Neill is looking to advance position but Evans won't allow it.
The fighters are battling for position here. Evans manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Evans is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Evans misses with a wild body shot.
The crowd cheers as Evans lands an impressive looking overhand right. O Neill doesn't seem phased though.
Evans leaves O Neill with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
O Neill throws a lazy right hand but Evans sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Evans is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down O Neill rather than just go for the knockout.
O Neill throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Evans gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows O Neill to score an easy takedown into full guard.

O Neill has gone for a leg lock! Evans slips out almost immediately though and dives into O Neill's guard.

Evans stands and throws O Neill's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Evans decides to stand back up. Evans steps back and let's O Neill get back to his feet.
Evans looks to land a left hand but O Neill moved out of range nicely.

Evans takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
O Neill ducks under a wild hook from Evans.

and O Neill counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and O Neill connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Evans swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and O Neill counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Evans throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and O Neill cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Logan Evans is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

O Neill shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Evans is trying to defend but O Neill finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

O Neill is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Evans is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
O Neill moves into full mount!
O Neill tries to control but Evans wriggling away.
Logan Evans has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The referee stands the fighters back up. Martin O Neill just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
O Neill swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Evans misses with a double jab
and O Neill counters with a straight right hand.
Evans throws a shot to the body.
O Neill catches Evans with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
O Neill cracks Evans with a right hand to the side of the head.

And that's the end of the fight!
Martin O Neill showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for O Neill, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
