PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Alliss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Hutchinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alliss kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Bring Me To Life. Brian Hutchinson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Alliss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brian Hutchinson!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Lou da Vinci and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hutchinson moves in looking to clinch but Alliss pushes him off.

Hutchinson feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Alliss sprawling to the canvas! Alliss rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Hutchinson finish him?!


It looks like Jon Alliss has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hutchinson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

and Alliss counters by moving into the clinch.
Alliss is pressed up against the cage. Hutchinson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Alliss down to the mat. Alliss avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Jon Alliss has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian Hutchinson.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hutchinson wants to stand up but Alliss is controlling him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Brian Hutchinson will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Alliss throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hutchinson's waist but Hutchinson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Alliss off to one side.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Jon Alliss overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

You get the feeling that Hutchinson really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Hutchinson's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
BOOM! Alliss connects with a massive shot to the dome!
