PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kazar Assamita (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Assamita comes into the arena with Click Click Boom blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of London, Kazar Assamita!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Sam Bob!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Paul Tew and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bob shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Assamita is trying to defend but Bob finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Assamita wants to control the action here but instead Bob manages to pass to full mount!
Assamita is desperately trying to improve his position but Bob has a good base and remains in mount.
Assamita bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Assamita really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Assamita makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Bob utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Assamita postures up in Bob's guard and throws a big left but Bob blocks it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
No joy there for Assamita, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Bob closes the distance and pushes Assamita back into the cage.
Assamita wants to break the clinch but can't.
Bob is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Assamita pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Assamita escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Assamita lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bob circles away quickly and effectively.
Bob dodges the punch combination from Assamita.
Assamita misses with a double jab.
Bob shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Assamita but Assamita pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Assamita stuffs the takedown.
Kazar Assamita has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sam Bob.
Bob looks gassed!
Bob closes this distance looking for a takedown but Assamita circles away.
Nice uppercut lands for Assamita. That snapped Bob's head back.


It looks like Sam Bob has been cut.

Assamita closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Assamita wants to break the clinch but can't.
Bob keeps control of Assamita as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Assamita wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Assamita wants to get back to striking at distance but Bob won't allow it.
Assamita is trying to break free.
Assamita is trying to break the clinch but Bob has him pressed against the cage.

Assamita breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Assamita shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bob's guard.
Assamita postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Assamita keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Bob's head.

Assamita passes Bob's left leg - he's now in half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Assamita lands a nice short elbow.
Assamita working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Assamita lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Assamita is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kazar Assamita dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Sam Bob's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Kazar Assamita seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Assamita lands a big right hand that sends Bob crashing to the mat! Assamita stays standing though and waves Bob back to his feet!
Assamita takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Bob shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Bob was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Assamita is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Assamita regains half guard.
Bob is breathing heavily.
Assamita regains full guard. Nicely done.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Assamita wants to sweep but no luck.

Assamita uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Bob avoids a punch combination nicely.

Assamita lands a left and a right that send Bob crashing to the mat, dazed. Assamita thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Assamita dances in with a quick combination. Bob is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Assamita snaps Bob's head back. Bob stumbles backwards against the cage. Assamita steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Bob's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Bob just didn't come prepared.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Kazar Assamita!
