Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Red (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and El Toro Loco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joe Red!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, El Toro Loco!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Alexandre Firmino and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Loco fails with a takedown attempt.
El Toro Loco seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Loco shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Red pinned against the cage. Red gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Joe Red has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of El Toro Loco.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Loco controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Red is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Loco is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Red keeping moving, preventing Loco from controlling successfully.

Red working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Loco doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Loco manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Loco postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Red is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Loco, into his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Loco wants to stand up but Red is controlling him.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Red postures up in Loco's guard and throws a big left but Loco blocks it.
Red tries to free his leg and advance position but Loco is retaining full guard.
Red not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Red content to stall in guard here.
Loco is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Red wants to get back to striking at distance but Loco won't allow it.

Red working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Red wants to pass the guard but Loco is keeping the position.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Red makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Red is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Loco has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Loco rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Red is trying to control. Loco wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Loco is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Red working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Red scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Loco is staying active underneath Red, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Red is working Loco over with some ground and pound from side control.
Loco takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Red gets control of Loco's arms and successfully pulls guard. Red will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Red pushes Loco off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Red can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Loco is looking to escape.

Red has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Joe Red overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Red has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Loco's face.
The referee warns Loco that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Joe Red is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Loco throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Red's waist but Red gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Loco off to one side.

Red gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

El Toro Loco has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Red has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
