And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stephenson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Longez as he jumps to the side.
Stephenson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Longez tries to clinch up.
Stephenson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Stephenson fails with a takedown attempt.

Longez gets a clinch.

Longez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Stephenson on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Stephenson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Longez pinned against the cage. Longez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Longez wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Stephenson has him pressed against the cage.

Stephenson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Longez clinches.

Stephenson drags the fight down to the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Longez wants to stand and escape but instead Stephenson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Longez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Stephenson is controlling him.

Stephenson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Longez, up you get!

Longez moves into the clinch successfully.
Stephenson tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Longez's elbow.

Longez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stephenson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Longez wants to get back to his feet but Stephenson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Stephenson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Stephenson tries for a takedown but Longez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Longez lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Stephenson works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Longez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Longez is trying to get back to his feet but Stephenson has full control of the position and if anything, Longez has just worked his way into a worse spot.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Longez scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Longez closes the distance but Stephenson moves to the side
and Stephenson counters with a head kick. That will keep Longez thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Stephenson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Stephenson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Longez can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Stephenson lands a nice shot to the head.
Pizzazz Longez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Longez is desperately trying to improve his position but Stephenson has a good base and remains in mount.

and Stephenson counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Longez throws an overhand right that drops Stephenson like a sack of potatoes! Longez dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
