Vera comes into the arena with Waiting blaring out of the sound system. Rio Ferdinant looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vera tests Ferdinant's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Ferdinant looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Vera checks a leg kick.

Ferdinant tries to clinch but Vera moves out of range.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Vera.
Ferdinant looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Still in the clinch, Vera scores with a nice short uppercut.
Ferdinant's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Ferdinant escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A nice combination there by Vera.

Vera has managed to clinch.
Ferdinant changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Vera fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Vera moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
A big right from Vera misses.

and Vera counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Vera drops back looking for a leg! Ferdinant is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ferdinant manages to kick Vera off! Vera jumps back into Ferdinant's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vera lands a couple of elbows.

Vera drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Vera seems to have locked his on tight now - Ferdinant screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Vera, as he picks up the win!
