PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yun Zheng (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wes Weddle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Zheng might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to CHINA: AK-47 . Weddle has chosen remember the name - fort minor as his entrance music. Wes Weddle has the eye of the tiger tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zheng closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Zheng lands in his opponent's guard.
Zheng won't allow Weddle to get back to his feet.
Weddle being controlled here, momentarily.
Zheng trying to control but Weddle is working from the bottom.
Weddle trying to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Zheng thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Zheng controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Zhengis looking to pass into half guard but Weddle pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Weddle is in guard.
Weddle missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Weddle throwing strikes but missing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Weddle throws and low kick but Zheng moves out of range easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Horrible takedown by Zheng or perhaps it was just good defense by Weddle which made him look bad.
Weddle lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Zheng falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!
