Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nick Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Patrick Cote!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cote walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Diaz lands a head shot.
Cote slaps away a takedown attempt from Diaz, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Diaz wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Diaz connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Cote momentarily.
Diaz fails with the takedown.

Cote looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Cote looks gassed!

Diaz is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cote defends well.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cote trying to control but Diaz is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cote working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Cote has eaten all the pies!

Diaz is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cote defends well.
Cote wants to control from the top but Diaz keeps moving.
Cote must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Diaz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cote doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cote manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cote stopping the sweep attempt from Diaz.
Cote wants to control from the top but Diaz keeps moving.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Cote avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cote throws a big right hand that misses.

Cote got a little sloppy there for a moment and Diaz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cote has managed to get both his arms back between Diaz's legs - danger averted.

Diaz looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Diaz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Cote is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Diaz has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Cote is looking to defend but Diaz has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Cote! Diaz pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Cote taps out and this one is all over!
