Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gavin Myers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mitch Staples (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Myers comes to the cage accompanied by "Firebreather" by Thrice. Mitch Staples will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Staples slaps away a takedown attempt from Myers, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Staples throws out a loose jab but Myers uses good head movement to avoid it.
Staples with a jab.
Myers takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Staples scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Staples lands a jab to Myers's midsection.
Myers misses with a body kick.
Myers keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Staples scores with a three punch combo!
Myers shoots in but Staples avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Myers looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Staples is fending him off so far but Myers persists. Nope, Staples circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gavin Myers. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Myers takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Myers drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Myers drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Myers as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Staples screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Myers! Nice submission victory there!
