The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Joseph Jones and Dean Styles.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua slips under a jab.
Rua clobbers ruas with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Rua moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
ruas misses with an uppercut.
Rua waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract ruas.
ruas throws a looping overhand right but Rua ducks down to avoid it.
Rua looks to land a right hand but ruas moved out of range.
Rua throws a lazy right hand but ruas sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Rua throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Rua throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck ruas on the side of the head.
Rua lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
No joy there for Rua, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rua walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

and ruas counters with a nice uppercut.

ruas moves forwards but Rua connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Rua takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Rua moves out of range as ruas strikes.
marco ruas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

ruas wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Rua fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Rua throws a combination that misses
and ruas cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Rua is breathing heavily.

Mauricio Rua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rua doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Rua throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and ruas connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
ruas paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Rua is rocked!
ruas throws an uppercut from hell that sends Rua clean off his feet! He's out cold! ruas stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
