The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Drew or perhaps it was just good defense by Nevil which made him look bad.
Drew blocks a head kick by Nevil.
Drew fails with a takedown attempt.
Drew throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Drew clinches up with Nevil and pushes him back against the cage.
Nevil prevents Drew from breaking the clinch.
Come on Drew - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Drew gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Nevil regains guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Drew decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Nevil wants to improve his position but Drew is controlling well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Drew tries to clinch up but Nevil circles away and keeps his distance.

Drew closes the distance and clinches up with Nevil, looking for a takedown. Drew pushes Nevil against the cage but Nevil circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Drew must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Drew drops back, looking for a kneebar! Nevil looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Nevil looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Nevil!
Nevil wants to lay and pray for a moment but Drew keeps working.

and Drew counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Nevil is lucky that one didn't land flush.
