PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rock Dock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Silver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silver has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rock Dock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jon Silver!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dock changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Silver tries to avoid it but Dock manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Silver to the ground. Silver escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Dock looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Silver drives through and clinches with Dock against the cage.

Dock has Silver pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Dock pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Silver tumbling to the mat - Dock dives into Silver's guard.
Dock won't allow Silver to sweep him here.

That was a close round but I would say that Rock Dock will probably get the nod.

Dock feints and as Silver raises his hands in defense, Dock changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Rock Dock overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Dock pulls Silver in close to prevent any damage.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Silver scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Silver throws a series of punches but Dock avoids them all with ease.

Silver wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Dock decides to stand up, so the ref orders Silver to his feet.

and Dock decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Silver's guard.

Silver has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dock can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Dock closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Silver wants to control but Dock postures up.

Dock is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Silver's shoulder. That is not cool.

Dock content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Dock is working for a guillotine from mount but Silver frees his head quite easily.

Silver is squirming around, avoiding Dock's attempts to control the action.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Rock Dock just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Silver!

Dock takes the fight into the clinch.
Silver fails to pull guard.

Dock manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Dock will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Silver drops back, looking for a kneebar! Dock looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Dock looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Dock!

Silver manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Silver kicks Dock off and gets back to his feet.

Dock shoots in and bounces Silver off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Jon Silver has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dock is pushing down on Silver's leg trying to pass to half guard. Silver is fighting to maintain full guard but Dock has managed to sneak the leg through.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rock Dock.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dock, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
