PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Donny Dane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juuso Lassilanpoika (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dane comes to the cage accompanied by Candy Paint. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Juuso Lassilanpoika was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Donny Dane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Juuso Lassilanpoika!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lassilanpoika moves in looking to clinch but Dane pushes him off.
Lassilanpoika tries to clinch up but Dane circles away and keeps his distance.
Lassilanpoika shoots in for a takedown but Dane shows good takedown defense.
Lassilanpoika misses with the combination.
Dane darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Lassilanpoika shoots in looking for a takedown. Dane tries to sprawl out of it but Lassilanpoika keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dane manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Lassilanpoika looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Lassilanpoika takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Lassilanpoika darts in and clinches Dane up against the cage.

Dane breaks the clinch.
Lassilanpoika is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lassilanpoika looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dane wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lassilanpoika has him pressed against the cage.
Lassilanpoika goes for a takedown in the clinch but Dane prevents it.
Donny Dane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juuso Lassilanpoika.

Dane breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lassilanpoika changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dane tries to avoid it but Lassilanpoika manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dane to the ground. Dane escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Dane lunges at Lassilanpoika with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Lassilanpoika's hand.
Dane misses the shot to the body.
Dane lands a jab to Lassilanpoika's midsection.
Lassilanpoika takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Dane stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
The fighters circle momentarily. Dane darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Lassilanpoika is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lassilanpoika tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dane swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Dane is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Dane connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Lassilanpoika momentarily.
Lassilanpoika is still on wobbly legs! Can Dane finish him?
Lassilanpoika has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Lassilanpoika there as he acknowledges the shot.
Dane throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Lassilanpoika stumbling backwards into the cage! Lassilanpoika bounces back off the cage towards Dane, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Dane lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Dane celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Donny Dane!
