The judges for this bout are James Glass, William Gold and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sardoni shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in von Carelstein's guard.
von Carelstein looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
von Carelstein pulls Sardoni in close to prevent any damage.
von Carelstein is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Sardoni looking to sit in guard and control but von Carelstein gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
von Carelstein drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and von Carelstein jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
von Carelstein doesn't manage to clinch there - Sardoni circles away.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sardoni is defended easily by von Carelstein.
von Carelstein rushes Sardoni and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
von Carelstein jumps guard and drags Sardoni to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Sardoni wants to get up but he can't break von Carelstein's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Sardoni throws a strike but von Carelstein rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
von Carelstein pushes down on Sardoni's leg and manages to get into half guard.

von Carelstein wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sardoni keeps working.
von Carelstein is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Sardoni has managed to free his arm - good work.
von Carelstein is working for a submission of some sort.
von Carelstein slows the pace down in half guard.
von Carelstein has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Sardoni defend it? von Carelstein steps over the head and cranks it - Sardoni is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for von Carelstein!
