PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darius Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JR NIGGA (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ellis kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is 2pac nothing to lose. Darius Ellis has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ellis moves in looking to clinch but NIGGA pushes him off.

NIGGA forces Ellis back against the cage and clinches.
Ellis really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Ellis tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

NIGGA is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Ellis can't fight it off and eventually NIGGA manages to take the fight to the floor. Ellis looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
NIGGA seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
NIGGA wants to control from the top but Ellis keeps moving.

NIGGA is looking to clinch.
Ellis lands with a kick to the temple. NIGGA shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
NIGGA throws a head kick but Ellis moves out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ellis looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

NIGGA closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Ellis is trying to get back to half guard.
NIGGA throws an elbow but Ellis slips to the side and avoids it well.

NIGGA is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ellis knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
NIGGA looks gassed!

Ellis tries to buck NIGGA off but NIGGA is having none of it.
NIGGA is looking to take a break and control but Ellis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ellis manages to work his way to half guard, despite NIGGA's best efforts.

Ellis lands a two punch combo.
Ellis tries to bum rush NIGGA with a series of wild strikes but NIGGA uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Ellis stops a takedown attempt from NIGGA.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Ellis creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Ellis lands a hook that snaps the head of NIGGA backwards.

NIGGA's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

NIGGA is looking to control Ellis's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can NIGGA avoid being mounted?

NIGGA had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ellis defends it easily.

NIGGA wants to stand and escape but Ellis is having none of it.

NIGGA wriggles free and stands up.

Ellis shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
NIGGA slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
NIGGA bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ellis's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
NIGGA prevents Ellis from getting back to his feet.
NIGGA passes Ellis's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

NIGGA fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ellis avoids it really well and circles away.

NIGGA sizes up Ellis with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now NIGGA is on top in guard.
NIGGA is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That was a close second round but I would say that Darius Ellis will probably get the nod.

No joy there for Ellis, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Ellis takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

NIGGA tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no NIGGA has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

and NIGGA counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by NIGGA.

Ellis is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

NIGGA pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ellis throws a right and a left that NIGGA avoids nicely.
Ellis throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and NIGGA counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ellis won't be happy with that.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

JR NIGGA comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think NIGGA has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
