Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Ewert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and nikolaj stalin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Ewert!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, nikolaj stalin!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Dmitry Maklakov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ewert tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but stalin swivels and escapes.

stalin darts in and clinches Ewert up against the cage.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
stalin tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ewert smiles and moves away.
stalin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

so Ewert counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Ewert stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. stalin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
stalin is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
stalin tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ewert trying to stand up but can't free himself from stalin's guard.
stalin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ewert is one step ahead there.
Ewert trying to control the position from guard on top but stalin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

stalin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
stalin pulls Ewert in close to his closed guard and prevents Ewert from doing any damage or advancing position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

stalin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ewert is working away from the top position though.

Ewert thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
stalin is pressing down on Ewert's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

stalin is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Ewert gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

stalin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Ewert thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Ewert manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Ewert takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

stalin tries to improve his position but instead Ewert has taken his back!
stalin is breathing heavily.

Ewert is persistently looking for the submission but stalin is defending it well.
Even with his hooks in, Ewert manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Ewert has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of stalin's body.

stalin is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
stalin trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
stalin turns into Ewert and is now in his guard.
stalin throws a strike but Ewert rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
John Ewert overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

stalin is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ewert is controlling him.

Ewert passes into half guard.
Ewert is looking to stall here but stalin recovers full guard.
stalin tries to land a sweep but no joy.
stalin looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Ewert puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ewert is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Ewert stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from stalin, right into the meat.
Ewert misses with the combination.

Ewert clinches up with stalin and pushes him back against the cage.
A knee to the head by Ewert.
stalin wants to break free but Ewert has control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Ewert dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Ewert swats away the attempt to clinch by stalin.

and Ewert counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Ewert fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but stalin avoids it really well and circles away.

stalin is not content to let Ewert control the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ewert wants to control but stalin is keeping him busy.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Ewert wants to lay and pray for a moment but stalin keeps working.
stalin gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Ewert is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. stalin can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

stalin reaches up to try and control the position but Ewert seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! stalin rolls and tries to escape and now Ewert has his back!

Ewert has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
stalin covers up after that shot from Ewert.
nikolaj stalin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
John Ewert is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

John Ewert showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ewert, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
