The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nelligan fails to land the takedown.
Fawcett bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Nelligan shoots for a double leg takedown but Fawcett sprawls well. He's pushed Nelligan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Nelligan moves into the clinch successfully.
Nelligan tries to pull guard but Fawcett holds him up against the cage and eventually Nelligan drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for tom Nelligan. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fawcett escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nelligan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Nelligan is sitting in close to Fawcett's body. Fawcett has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Nelligan is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Nelligan is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Fawcett.
