Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roy Hook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonas Wenkel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hook walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Wenkel on the wrong end of a nice jab.

It looks like Jonas Wenkel has been cut.
Hook throws a body punch but Wenkel moves out of range.
Hook wants to clinch up but Wenkel keeps it at a distance.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Hook, as that shot connected.
Hook dips to his left and cracks Wenkel with an uppercut!
Wenkel tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hook paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hook throws a series of punches but Wenkel avoids them all with ease.
Hook misses with a body shot.

Hook throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Wenkel pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hook tries to clinch but Wenkel moves away

and Wenkel counters with a head kick that drops Hook - he's looking to finish, following his stunned foe to the ground!
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Wenkel connects with a nice short shot to Hook's temple.
Hook wants to get back to full guard.

Wenkel is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hook is just riding it out for now. Wenkel eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wenkel is pressing down on Hook's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hook is holding on for now.

Wenkel wants to work for an arm triangle but Hook is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Wenkel throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Hook knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wenkel on the ground.

Wenkel drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hook looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hook looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hook!
Wenkel manages to work his way to half guard, despite Hook's best efforts.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Wenkel is trying to hold Hook in close to prevent damage but Hook has managed to pass into half guard.

and Wenkel counters with a big head kick but Hook shrugs it off.
Hook lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Hook thows a body shot but no joy.
Hook lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hook scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

That has opened up Jonas Wenkel's cut even more.
No joy there for Hook, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hook fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Wenkel manages to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Roy Hook will probably get the nod.

Wenkel is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hook is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hook has escaped and now he's on top!

Jonas Wenkel's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Hook comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
