Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lazaro Casanova (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter with a nice cross.
Carter bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Casanova's head backwards.

It looks like Lazaro Casanova has been cut.
Carter moves in looking to clinch but Casanova pushes him off.
Carter stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Carter wants it to stay on the feet.

Carter swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Casanova is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Carter's half guard.

Carter is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Casanova's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Casanova's back!
Carter is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Carter gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Carter gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Carter apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Lazaro Casanova seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Horrible takedown by Casanova or perhaps it was just good defense by Carter which made him look bad.

Casanova shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Carter sprawls well. Carter wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Casanova gets slowly back to his feet.

Carter shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Casanova is trying to defend but Carter finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Casanova decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Carter is in trouble now - Casanova has advanced to mount!
Casanova throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Carter swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carter bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Carter connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Carter fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Carter wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Oh Casanova is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Carter misses with a looping right.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Carter throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Casanova sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Casanova seems to have got his legs back now.
Carter misses with a few strikes there.
Casanova moves away from the strike by Carter.
