The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rodrigues is defended easily by Tito.
Tito fails with the takedown

and Rodrigues counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Tito wants to control but Rodrigues is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Rodrigues works his foot free and advances to mount.

Rodrigues goes for an armbar but Tito turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Tito.

Rodrigues is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tito defends well.
Rodrigues is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Rodrigues working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tito doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tito manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rodrigues makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Rodrigues.

Rodrigues is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Rodrigues is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That was a close round but I would say that Nascimento Tito will probably get the nod.
