Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andre Masques (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scooby Doo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doo is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Scooby Doo Theme Song. Andre Masques has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masques jabs Doo right on the nose. Doo blinks but takes it well.
Masques scores with a shot to the body.
Doo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Masques as he jumps to the side.
Doo wants to clinch up but Masques keeps it at a distance.
Horrible takedown by Doo or perhaps it was just good defense by Masques which made him look bad.
Masques lands with a cross.
Masques lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Masques connects with a good right hand that stumbles Doo. Doo circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Doo takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Doo shoots in but Masques avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Masques lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Doo takes a shot right to the bread basket.

The fighters circle momentarily. Masques darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Masques jabs Doo right on the nose. Doo blinks but takes it well.

Masques on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Masques tries to get out of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Masques wants to sweep but no luck.

Doo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Doo tries to free his leg and advance position but Masques is retaining full guard.
Masques knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Doo on the ground.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Andre Masques seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Masques fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Doo looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Doo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Masques slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Doo is trying desperately to land a takedown but Masques is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Doo.

Doo takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Masques lands with an uppercut that bounces Doo off the cage and back into rage.
Doo takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Masques throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Doo stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Masques comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Good exchange - Masques coming out on top.
Masques lands a lovely overhand right.
Masques lands with a hook. Doo tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Masques fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Masques lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Doo has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
Masques scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Doo has taken the fight to the clinch.
Doo is trying to drag Masques to the mat but Masques just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Doo prevents a takedown attempt there.
Doo drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Masques gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Masques is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The crowd cheers as Masques lands an impressive looking overhand right. Doo doesn't seem phased though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Masques really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Masques is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Doo gets his way!

A punch lands to the side of Doo 's head but he takes it in his stride.

That was a close second round but I would say that Andre Masques will probably get the nod.
That's time! Masques 's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Masques jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Doo walks away with a smile on his face. Masques gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Doo closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Doo has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Masques avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Doo has Masques pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Doo pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Masques tumbling to the mat - Doo dives into Masques 's guard.

Masques is pulling down on Doo's head. It's preventing any offense from Doo, at least for the moment.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Masques wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Doo manages to pass to side control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Doo shoots for a double leg takedown but Masques sprawls well. He's pushed Doo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Doo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Masques sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Doo somewhat.

Doo doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Masques uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Doo has time to react.

Doo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Masques swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Scooby Doo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
