PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Satoshi Miura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manaka Perelman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miura comes to the cage accompanied by I Gotcha by Ken The 390. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Satoshi Miura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Manaka Perelman!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shigeki Sano and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Perelman throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Miura was covering up waiting for the punch and Perelman finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Miura avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Miura is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Miura throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Miura lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Miura misses with a series of wild punches.
Perelman on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Miura. Miura obviously looking to wear him down.
Satoshi Miura is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Miura throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Miura lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Miura throws the kick towards the body but Perelman avoids it.
Miura throws a right hand that Perelman ducks under and follows up with a left that Perelman also avoids with ease.
Miura pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Perelman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Satoshi Miura will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Miura throws a good cross that connects.

Perelman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Miura sprawls well. Miura wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Perelman gets slowly back to his feet.
Perelman walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Miura throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Perelman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Miura as he jumps to the side.
Perelman dodges the punch combination from Miura.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Miura.
Miura throws a push kick but Perelman slaps the foot to one side.
Miura misses with a body kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Miura pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Perelman has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Miura.
Miura looks to land a right hand but Perelman moved out of range.

Perelman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Miura's waist but Miura gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Perelman off to one side.

Miura lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Perelman circles away quickly and effectively.

Perelman tries to score a power double leg takedown but Miura sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Perelman somewhat.

Perelman's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Miura ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Perelman moves away.
Miura tries to land a front kick but Perelman steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Miura turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Perelman closes the distance and clinches up with Miura, looking for a takedown. Perelman pushes Miura against the cage but Miura circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Perelman fails with the takedown.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Miura throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Manaka Perelman has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Miura tries to land a front kick but Perelman steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

And that's the end of the fight!
Satoshi Miura showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Miura, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
