The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Almeida throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Almeida looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Lagozzi scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

It looks like Thiago Almeida has been cut.
Lagozzi changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Almeida avoids a punch combination nicely.
Almeida takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Lagozzi lands with a nice body punch.
Lagozzi throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Oooh a lovely combination from Lagozzi sends Almeida down but not out. Lagozzi dives into side control looking to finish.

Almeida is rocked!
Almeida is looking for a sweep.
Oh Almeida is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lagozzi controls the position from side control.
Almeida seems to have got his legs back now.

Lagozzi decides to stand back up. Lagozzi steps back and let's Almeida get back to his feet.

Lagozzi lands with a big right hook that stumbles Almeida - he's out on his feet here! Lagozzi follows up with another monster hook that separates Almeida from consciousness! Almeida falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Lagozzi stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
