PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mack Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Perry has chosen Lets Go as his entrance music. Diaz has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Nick Diaz has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nick Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mack Perry!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Patrick Alders and Paulsen Ambrosius.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz slaps away a takedown attempt from Perry, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Perry has closed the distance and engaged Diaz in a clinch.
Diaz wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Perry has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Diaz is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Perry works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Perry got a little sloppy there for a moment and Diaz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Perry has managed to get both his arms back between Diaz's legs - danger averted.
Perry wants to control from the top but Diaz keeps moving.
Perry won't allow Diaz to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Perry slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Perry stands and steps away. Diaz gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Perry closes the distance and clinches.
Perry drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Nick Diaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mack Perry.
Perry looks gassed!

Perry has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Diaz uses from the top position.
Perry is trying to keep Diaz in close.
Diaz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Perry swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Diaz sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Perry's guard.

Diaz seems to be working for a kimura but Perry defends the submission attempt.
Perry is trying is best to control the position here.
Perry is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Perry scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Diaz manages to mount him!

Diaz can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Perry is looking to escape.
Perry tries to control the position but Diaz now has his back.
