Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott McIntyre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mick Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McIntyre comes to the ring accompanied by The Chosen One. Thompson has chosen OTEP-Battle Ready as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McIntyre shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. McIntyre showed some decent athleticism there.
McIntyre is thwarting Thompson's attempts to control the position.
Thompson wants to improve his position but McIntyre is controlling well.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
McIntyre is keen to just control but Thompson is a slippery customer.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Thompson goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Thompson tries to lock up and control but McIntyre gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

McIntyre is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Thompson is surviving well by controlling McIntyre's body position as best he can.
Thompson is trying desperately to improve position.

Thompson somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!
McIntyre blocks a head kick by Thompson.

McIntyre closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Thompson manages to work his way to half guard, despite McIntyre's best efforts.

McIntyre wants to take a breather but Thompson is having none of it.
McIntyre blocks the strikes from Thompson.
Thompson wants to get back to his feet.
McIntyre thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
McIntyre wants to control but Thompson is keeping him busy.

McIntyre is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Thompson sees it coming and defends easily.
McIntyre is breathing heavily.
Thompson tries to get to full guard but McIntyre has control of the leg.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
McIntyre misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
McIntyre throws a sloppy head kick and Thompson moves out of range easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from McIntyre.

Thompson thows a body kick. McIntyre tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Thompson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Thompson lands a big head kick that sends McIntyre tumbling to the mat! Thompson takes a step backwards and waves McIntyre back to his feet - he wants the finish!

McIntyre is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Thompson cracks McIntyre with a left hook right on the temple and McIntyre goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Thompson lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully McIntyre is OK!
