Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryu Lopez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tino Headman!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Shimada.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Headman throws a nice looking combination but Lopez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Headman closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Headman tries to move into full mount but can't pass Lopez's legs.

Headman has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Headman thows a left - swing and a miss!
Lopez staying out of range there.
Headman lands with a straight right. Lopez didn't see that one coming.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Lopez.
Headman swings for the body but Lopez moves out of range.

and Headman counters with a single leg into guard. Lopez didn't expect that.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Headman wanted to stand there but Lopez had control of the position.
Headman postures up and lands a big shot to Lopez's brow.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Headman sitting in guard here, content to control.
Headman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lopez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Lopez is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Headman frees his head nicely. Oh but Lopez has switched to an armbar! Headman is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
