PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between hugh gardon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamal Hudak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, hugh gardon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jamal Hudak!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Columbo Gatti and Jonathan Paton.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

gardon throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hudak was covering up waiting for the punch and gardon finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
gardon is fighting to break Hudak's control of his arms but Hudak is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hudak is on top in guard.

Hudak drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hudak jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hudak trying to control but gardon is working from the bottom.

Hudak thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Hudak stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. gardon swivels though and keeps the full guard.
gardon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

gardon looking for a guillotine here but Hudak defends easily.

gardon has an active guard here but Hudak has managed to pass into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hudak is keen to just control but gardon is a slippery customer.
Hudak passes the guard and advances to mount!
gardon can't escape the position.
Hudak connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Hudak moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, gardon has worked his arm free - good work by gardon!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Check out the look on Hudak's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
A lull in the action here as Hudak stalls from top position.
gardon is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

gardon tries to get back to half guard but can't.
gardon is trying to buck Hudak off.

Hudak is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but gardon is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hudak is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. gardon is trying to escape and Hudak transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and gardon is forced to tap! Nice work there by Hudak! Very nice indeed!
