Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maximus Meridius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Eddie Jones has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Eddie Jones seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Maximus Meridius!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a sloppy head kick and Meridius moves out of range easily.

Jones moves into the clinch.
Meridius jumps guard but Jones stands there with Meridius around his waist. Meridius gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Jones unloads a knee to the mid-section. Meridius lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Meridius looks gassed!
Meridius tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jones smiles and moves away.
Jones displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Meridius.
Eddie Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maximus Meridius.

It looks like Maximus Meridius has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jones fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Meridius looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Jones tries a head kick but it misses.
Meridius moves out of range of the strikes.

Jones lands a big head kick that sends Meridius tumbling to the mat! Jones takes a step backwards and waves Meridius back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Jones scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Meridius doesn't seem bothered though.
Jones feints and then cracks Meridius's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Meridius down.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jones bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

That has opened up Maximus Meridius's cut even more.

Jones drops Meridius with a beautiful combination! Meridius stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Jones is looking for the KO!

Meridius ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Jones gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Meridius takes a shot to the head.
Jones stalling against the cage.

Jones scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Maximus Meridius's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Jones lands a nice elbow.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Maximus Meridius's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
