Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Peter Petey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Riddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Peter Petey !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mike Riddell!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Valeri Chadov and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riddell tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Riddell dodges the punch combination from Petey .
Petey throws a right and a left that both miss.
Petey throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Riddell's waist but Riddell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Petey off to one side.

Riddell shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

and Riddell takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Petey clobbers Riddell with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Petey fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Riddell avoids a punch combination nicely.
Petey throws a jab but it's blocked by Riddell.

Riddell fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Petey sprawls well initially but Riddell persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Riddell is nestled in close to Petey , controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Riddell wants to pass the guard but Petey is defending well.
Petey tries to get to full guard but Riddell has control of the leg.
Riddell looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Petey is looking for a sweep. Riddell is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Petey is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Riddell pulls his head out easily.
Petey wants to improve his position but Riddell is controlling well.
Riddell has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Riddell wants to free his trapped foot but Petey is holding on for dear life with his legs.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Riddell moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Riddell uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Petey .
Riddell closes this distance looking for a takedown but Petey circles away.
Peter Petey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Riddell.
Petey stalks Riddell and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Riddell's face. Riddell staggers backwards, shaken.

Riddell takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Petey is looking to stall here but Riddell recovers full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Riddell takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Riddell slaps away a takedown attempt from Petey , before circling back to the center of the mat.

Riddell shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Riddell showed some decent athleticism there.
Petey tries to get to full guard but Riddell has control of the leg.
Riddell wants to pass the guard but Petey is defending well.
Petey is looking for a sweep. Riddell is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Petey shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Riddell pinned against the cage. Riddell gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Riddell cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Mike Riddell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Riddell shoots in looking for a takedown. Petey tries to sprawl out of it but Riddell keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Petey manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Peter Petey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Riddell.

Petey throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Riddell takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Petey darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Riddell slips under a jab.
Petey will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Petey throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Riddell stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Petey shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Petey showed some decent athleticism there.
Riddell is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Petey jumps into side control!

Petey goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Riddell rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Petey 's guard! Nice work there by Riddell!

Riddell punching from the bottom - just letting Petey know he's still in a fight.
Petey throws and elbow that misses. Riddell uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Petey 's guard. Nice move by Riddell!

Peter Petey showed his dominance in that final round.
