PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Brody (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boba Fett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brody's entrance music is "That Girl" by Iron Maiden. A fine choice. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fett takes the fight into the clinch.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Fett pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Brody will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Brody clinches up with Fett and pushes him back against the cage.
Fett jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Brody walks away with a smile on his face. Fett gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Brody fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fett avoids it really well and circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Brody looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Fett tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Brody looks for the body kick but Fett saw that one coming.

Fett closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Brody tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Fett just stands there and leans against the cage.
Brody jumps guard but Fett stands there with Brody around his waist. Brody gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

and Brody counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Fett counters by moving into the clinch.
Brody wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Fett has him pressed against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Fett takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Fett.

Fett breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Brody goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Fett.

Boba Fett showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Fett tries to close the distance and clinch up but Brody swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Brody had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Fett defends it easily.

I would just about give that final round to Boba Fett.
Well Fett has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
