Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jeffrey Lestat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Austin Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeffrey Lestat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Austin Smith!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Columbo Gatti and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lestat throws a head kick that misses.
Lestat lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Smith rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lestat moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Lestat connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Lestat throws a leg kick which misses Smith's front leg but catches the back leg as Smith tries to avoid it.
Lestat throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A solid leg kick lands there for Lestat.
Lestat throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lestat misses with a takedown attempt - Smith sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Smith drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Smith takes a little break here. Lestat wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Smith decides to stand back up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smith tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Smith shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Smith was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Lestat tries to hold on but Smith pushes him away.
Smith wants to control the pace but Lestat is squirming around nicely.

Smith has control of Lestat's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Lestat regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Smith looks gassed!

Smith can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lestat is looking to escape.
Lestat tries to hold on but Smith postures up.
Smith scoring with strikes but Lestat is staying in there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Smith sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Smith lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Smith working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Lestat wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Smith is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Lestat throws a series of punches but Smith moves out of range.
Lestat shoots and misses

and Smith counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Smith is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Lestat has managed to free his arm - good work.
Smith tries to pass the half guard into mount. Lestat knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Lestat tries to kick Smith off but Smith keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Smith is stalling here. Lestat is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Smith seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Lestat has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Austin Smith dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Smith takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Jeffrey Lestat is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Smith misses with a takedown attempt
and Lestat counters with an outside leg kick.
Lestat lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Good leg kick by Lestat there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Lestat moves out of range of the body kick from Smith.
Lestat feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Smith's calf.
Smith has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Lestat.
Jeffrey Lestat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A lazy body kick from Smith
and Lestat makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Smith really felt that one!
Lestat throws a leg kick which misses Smith's front leg but catches the back leg as Smith tries to avoid it.
Lestat misses with a head kick.
Smith shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lestat pinned against the cage. Lestat gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Lestat goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lestat pushes Smith away with a front kick.
Lestat with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Lestat throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Smith.

Lestat forces Smith back against the cage and clinches.
Lestat is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Lestat lands an elbow just above Smith 's eye.
Smith tries to pull guard but Lestat won't allow it.
Jeffrey Lestat has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Austin Smith.

Lestat has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Smith clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Smith trying to control but not successfully.

Smith is looking to stand back up. He's having to work hard to escape but eventually he manages it.
Smith fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lestat manages to avoid it.
Smith throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Smith fails with an attempt to clinch.
Smith misses with a head kick.

Lestat feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Smith holds on and takes a little breather.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Smith keeping moving, preventing Lestat from controlling successfully.

Lestat avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Lestat stands up from guard. Let's bang!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Lestat.
A chopping leg kick lands by Lestat.
Lestat fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Lestat keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lestat swinging wilding here.
Lestat scores with a spinning back kick!
Lestat throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Lestat closes the distance and clinches.
Knees to the body from Lestat.
Smith fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Smith drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lestat pulls his leg out and moves away.
Smith takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Lestat shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Smith tries to reverse the position but Lestat maintains control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Smith's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Smith is squirming around, avoiding Lestat's attempts to control the action.
Smith can't escape the position.

Lestat get's back to his feet.
Lestat closes this distance looking for a takedown but Smith circles away.

Smith shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Smith showed some decent athleticism there.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Smith landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeffrey Lestat dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Lestat lands with a thumping leg kick.

Lestat drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Smith looking to control.
Lestat stopping the sweep attempt from Smith.

Smith throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Smith looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Lestat passes into half guard.
Smith takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Lestat is tying to control. Smith wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Smith wants to get back to full guard.
Smith is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lestat's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lestat's back!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Smith really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Lestat.
Smith lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Smith just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lestat takes a big shot to the side of the head.


Lestat is rocked!


It looks like Jeffrey Lestat has been cut.
Smith scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Oh Lestat is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Smith has good solid back control here.
Austin Smith has got the better of the ground game so far.

Smith is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Lestat is tapping out! This one is all over!
