Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marshall Law (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daigo Goto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Law kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Radiation Sickness . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Daigo Goto!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Law has managed to clinch.

Law pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Goto tries to clinch but Law moves away

and Law counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Law.
Law gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Goto.

Law looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Law is trying to control the action in half guard but Goto is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Law stands up and beckons Goto to his feet.
Law lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

It looks like Daigo Goto has been cut.
Law tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Goto wants to clinch but Law slips to the side
and Law counters with a three punch combo that has Goto backing up. Goto nods at Law to acknowledge the strikes.

so Law counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Law is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Law won't allow Goto to get back to his feet.
Goto keeping moving, preventing Law from controlling successfully.

Law got a little sloppy there for a moment and Goto has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Law has managed to get both his arms back between Goto's legs - danger averted.

Law sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Law trying to stand up but can't free himself from Goto's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Goto had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Law defends it easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Law is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Goto swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Goto darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Goto thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Law looks like he's trying to stand up.
Law is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Goto scores with a couple of nice shots.
Law wants to get back to his feet.
Goto drops an elbow to the side of Law's head.

Law knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Goto on the ground.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Goto trying to mount his opponent but Law defends it.
Law looks like he's trying to stand up.
Goto working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Law manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Goto feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Law is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Goto is controlling him.

Law is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Goto keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Law's head.
Law utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Law wants to sweep but no luck.

Goto postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Law is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Goto, into his guard.

Daigo Goto showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Goto doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Law counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Law.

Law stands and steps away. Goto gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Goto stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Law.

Law clinches up with Goto and pushes him back against the cage.
Law gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Goto.
Goto tries to score a body lock takedown but Law shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Law escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Law misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Law decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Goto's guard.
Goto has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Law is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Goto has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Law can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Goto isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Law stacks Goto on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Law!

Law closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Goto is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Law pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Law breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Law counters with a series of strikes. Goto will be more careful next time no doubt.

Well Law has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
