PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between AXEL WHEELER (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). WHEELER comes to the cage accompanied by If you want blood(You got it) by AC/DC. The key to victory for AXEL WHEELER has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Atkins and Paul Tew.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Li bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Li prevents WHEELER from escaping the position.
Li creates some space and throws a big elbow, but WHEELER sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Li working the ground and pound but WHEELER is defending the strikes.
WHEELER is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Li asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Li tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but WHEELER swivels and escapes.
Li fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but WHEELER avoids it really well and circles away.
WHEELER really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

WHEELER rushes Li and presses him up against the cage.
WHEELER prevents a takedown attempt there.
AXEL WHEELER has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian Li.
WHEELER lands a right hand that snaps the head of Li backwards.
WHEELER lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
WHEELER lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Li backwards.

That's one minute gone in the round.
WHEELER scores with a nice hook to the head.
WHEELER lands a body punch in the clinch.
Li looks gassed!
Li can't get the takedown.
WHEELER lands a right hand.

It looks like Brian Li has been cut.
WHEELER lands with a left to the head.

WHEELER lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
WHEELER pushes Li back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
WHEELER connects with a nasty looking knee right to Li's face.
Li takes an elbow to the temple.

That has opened up Brian Li's cut even more.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
WHEELER comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
A quick uppercut on the inside from WHEELER.
WHEELER lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

The cut above Brian Li's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
WHEELER putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Li in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
A short right hand to the side of the head by WHEELER.
WHEELER works on Li's body with a couple of short punches.
WHEELER lands with a left to the head.
WHEELER gets through Li's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
WHEELER working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.

Brian Li's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Brian Li's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
