The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scotch Tape tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ali swivels and escapes.
Ali jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Scotch Tape ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Scotch Tape does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Ali is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Scotch Tape.

Ali lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Ali throws a looping overhand right but Scotch Tape ducks down to avoid it.

Ali throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Scotch Tape sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Ali is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Scotch Tape had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Scotch Tape jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Ali is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Ali and Scotch Tape has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ali really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Scotch Tape. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rodent Scotch Tape.
