Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ryder Irvine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Kay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kay has chosen Sabaton as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Kay!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Irvine lands with a right hand.
Irvine lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Kay tries to clinch up.
Kay tries to clinch up but Irvine circles away and keeps his distance.
Irvine misses with a wild combination.
Kay tries to clinch but Irvine moves out of range.
Kay tries a head kick but it misses.
Kay showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Irvine.

Kay fails in his attempt to clinch.
Kay lets loose with a powerful body kick. Irvine will feel that in the morning.
Irvine scores with the left hand. Kay knows he should have avoided that one.

Irvine misses with a series of wild punches.
Kay tries to clinch but Irvine is having none of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kay doesn't manage to clinch there - Irvine circles away.
Irvine throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Kay throws a head kick that misses.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kay looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kay throws a series of punches but Irvine avoids them all with ease.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Kay moves in looking to clinch but Irvine pushes him off.
Irvine throws a leg kick but Kay sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Irvine throws a low kick but it's checked well by Kay.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Kay counters with a big head kick but Irvine shrugs it off.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kay looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A nice leg kick lands there from Kay.

Irvine tries to work over Kay's front leg with a kick but Kay checks it.
Irvine falls off balance throwing a combination
and Kay counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Irvine misses with a straight left.
Kay is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Irvine lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Kay walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

John Kay showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Kay throws a head kick that half lands.
Kay moves in looking to clinch but Irvine pushes him off.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

and Kay counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Irvine is lucky that one didn't land flush.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

and Irvine counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Kay thinking.

and Kay counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Irvine lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

John Kay comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kay has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
