Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fred Boyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Fred Boyle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Max Pain!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Steven Brown and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boyle circles away from the clinch attempt.
Pain bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Pain is looking to clinch but Boyle is avoiding it.
Boyle thows a left - swing and a miss!
Boyle misses with a takedown attempt - Pain sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Horrible takedown by Boyle or perhaps it was just good defense by Pain which made him look bad.
Pain ducks under a wild hook from Boyle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Boyle bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Pain parries the strikes from Boyle easily there. Boyle is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Pain to escape.

Pain bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Boyle misses with an uppercut. Pain saw that one coming.
Boyle tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Pain throws a right and a left that Boyle avoids nicely.

Boyle shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Boyle was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Boyle takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Boyle is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Boyle shoots for a takedown but Pain saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Pain tries to close the distance and clinch up but Boyle swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Pain is looking to clinch but Boyle is avoiding it.
Pain uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Boyle.
A head kick misses from Boyle.
Max Pain is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Boyle throws a head kick but Pain moves out of range.

Boyle closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Pain did well to prevent Boyle getting side control.
Pain is not content to let Boyle control the position.

Pain really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Boyle. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Boyle is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Pain to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Pain shrugs it off.

Pain is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Pain is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Boyle off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Pain keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Boyle fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pain manages to avoid it.
Pain lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Boyle circles away quickly and effectively.
A big left from Pain misses.

Boyle fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Pain.

Boyle postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Pain looks a forlorn figure.
Pain takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Fred Boyle overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Boyle has hold of Pain's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Pain manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Boyle working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Boyle has control of Pain's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Pain regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Boyle goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Pain is on top in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pain decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Boyle, up you get!

and Boyle takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Pain throws an overhand right that lands on Boyle's shoulder, as Boyle tries to avoid the shot.

Pain moves in looking to clinch but Boyle pushes him off.

No joy there for Pain, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Boyle feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Boyle, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
