Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adono Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Figari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Figari's choice of entrance music: Here comes the boom. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Seu Braga and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Garcia shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Figari defends it nicely.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Garcia is defended easily by Figari.
Garcia swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Figari avoids a kick to the body.

Garcia fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Figari, pushing him back against the cage.
Garcia is struggling to control the position.

Garcia is looking to stand back up but Figari counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Garcia.

Garcia misses with a few strikes there.

and Figari counters with a nice double leg into side control. Garcia won't be happy with that.
Figari should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Figari tries to advance to mount but can't.
Garcia tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Garcia is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Figari is breathing heavily.
Garcia cracks a nice hook into Figari's ribs.
Garcia tries to score a power double leg takedown but Figari sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Garcia somewhat.
Garcia misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Garcia looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

No luck for Figari with that takedown attempt.
Figari leaves Garcia with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Garcia throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Figari counters with a three punch combo that has Garcia backing up. Garcia nods at Figari to acknowledge the strikes.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Garcia will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Figari has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Figari shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Garcia napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Garcia wants to get back to his feet but Figari drags him back down.
Garcia bucks up and tries to throw Figari off but instead Figari has got his back!

Figari somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
Garcia wants to get back to his feet.

Figari is persistently looking for the submission but Garcia is defending it well.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Garcia is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Figari punches the canvas rather than the man.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andrew Figari showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Garcia shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Figari as he jumps to the side.
Figari shoots in and drives through. Garcia sprawls well.
Garcia doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Figari counters with a shoot takedown. Garcia fights it but they end up in guard.
Garcia is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Figari stands up from Garcia's guard - Figari perhaps looking for a knockout.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
A nice combination there by Garcia.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Figari would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Garcia wants to get back to his feet but Figari is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Andrew Figari comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Figari winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
