Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rick Rawse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chase Chay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rawse's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Hustlin'. Rick Rawse could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Chase Chay's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rick Rawse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chase Chay!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chay tries to clinch up but Rawse circles away and keeps his distance.

Rawse checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Chay moves in looking to clinch but Rawse pushes him off.
Chay tries a head kick but it misses.

Rawse closes the distance and clinches.
Rawse prevents a takedown attempt there.
Chay is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Rawse is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Chay pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Rawse turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Rawse tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rawse has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Rawse is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Chay knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Rawse wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chay keeps working.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Rawse stalling away here and it's allowed Chay to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Chay is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Rawse throws a right hand that Chay ducks under and follows up with a left that Chay also avoids with ease.

Chay can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rawse controls the pace.

Rawse has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Chay is looking to stand up but Rawse isn't so interested in that idea.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Chay tries to reverse the position but Rawse maintains control.

Rick Rawse overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Rawse goes for an armbar but Chay turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Chay.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Chay gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Chay takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Rawse working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Chay doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Chay manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Chay tries to free his leg and advance position but Rawse is retaining full guard.

Rawse is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Chay is looking to stand up but Rawse won't let him.

Chay wants to stand but Rawse has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Chay decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Rawse, up you get!

Rawse drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Chay gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Chay lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Rawse or not.

Rawse scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Chay regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Rawse.
Rawse wants to control from the top but Chay keeps moving.
Chay wants to stand up but Rawse is controlling him.

Rick Rawse is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Rawse cracks Chay with a solid left hand.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rick Rawse.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rawse, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
