Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Connor Gordon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Poumoullo Sorigandis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gordon kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gordon fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sorigandis sprawls well initially but Gordon persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Sorigandis pushes Gordon off looking to stand but Gordon dives back in and keeps control.
Gordon is looking to stall here but Sorigandis recovers full guard.
Sorigandis has a closed guard, preventing Gordon from standing up.
Sorigandis wants to stand up but Gordon is controlling him.
Sorigandis is adopting a defensive guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Gordon shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Gordon is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sorigandis is just riding it out for now. Gordon eventually gives up the hold.

Gordon is working for a submission of some sort.
Sorigandis is holding on to half guard well.

Gordon is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Sorigandis has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gordon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Sorigandis is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gordon defends well.

Sorigandis decides to stand back up. Sorigandis steps back and let's Gordon get back to his feet.

Sorigandis makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sorigandis.

Gordon drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Sorigandis dives on top into guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sorigandis wants to control the pace but Gordon is squirming around nicely.
Gordon wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Sorigandis.

Gordon holds on to Sorigandis as tight as he can, avoiding damage.
Sorigandis wants to control the pace but Gordon is squirming around nicely.

Gordon is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Sorigandis.
Sorigandis is trying to stick to Gordon's back but Gordon is turning into Sorigandis. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Sorigandis's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Gordon.

Sorigandis isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Gordon stacks Sorigandis on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Gordon!

Gordon wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sorigandis, who protects the arm well.
Gordon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sorigandis keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sorigandis tries to bench press Gordon off him but Gordon keeps the position.

Gordon thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Sorigandis will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

and Gordon counters by moving into the clinch.
Gordon jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sorigandis walks away with a smile on his face. Gordon gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Sorigandis gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Gordon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sorigandis swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gordon wants to pass the guard but Sorigandis is keeping the position.
Sorigandis has control of Gordon's left arm, preventing Gordon from doing any damage.

Gordon drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sorigandis looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sorigandis looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sorigandis!

Sorigandis is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Sorigandis extends the arm and Gordon is forced to tap!
