And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Willy Wonder!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paul Aken and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wonder uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from King.
Wonder jabs at King's body.
Wonder connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Wonder looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Wonder misses with a straight left.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
King avoids a punch combination nicely.
King slips a jab and a cross from Wonder.

King fails with the takedown.
King shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Nice sprawl there from Wonder as King shoots in.

King tries to score a power double leg takedown but Wonder sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten King somewhat.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wonder is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Wonder misses with a double jab.
King closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Wonder misses with a body shot.
King shoots for a double leg takedown but Wonder sprawls well. He's pushed King's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Nice defenses there by King.

King walks into a straight right hand from Wonder.

Willy Wonder showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

King will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Wonder displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from King.

King shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Wonder but Wonder pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
King dives in and grabs Wonder's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wonder pushes down on King's head and hops out.
King tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Wonder swivels and escapes.
Wonder just misses with a punch to the body.

King shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

King is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Wonder has managed to free his arm - good work.
Wonder tries to roll over but King keeps him under control.
Willy Wonder is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

King is trying to control the action in half guard but Wonder is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
King is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Wonder is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Rye King has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Wonder wants to control but King is keeping busy.
