PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Boom Boom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andersen Silvesk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Boom Boom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Andersen Silvesk!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silvesk tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Boom was well out of range. Poor timing from Silvesk.
Silvesk fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Silvesk lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Boom circles away quickly and effectively.
Boom is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Silvesk swings for the body but Boom moves out of range.
Silvesk's corner calls for a 1-2. Silvesk obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Boom throws a knee to the head but misses.
Boom lands a knee to the head.


It looks like Andersen Silvesk has been cut.
Boom unloads a knee to the mid-section. Silvesk lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Silvesk breaks the clinch.
Boom uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Silvesk.
Boom misses with a takedown attempt - Silvesk sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Boom looks for a takedown but Silvesk sprawls well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Silvesk darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Boom tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Silvesk paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Boom wants to clinch up but Silvesk keeps it at a distance.
Silvesk circles away from the clinch attempt.
Boom doesn't manage to clinch there - Silvesk circles away.
Boom wants to clinch up but Silvesk keeps it at a distance.
Silvesk throws a hook but Boom avoids it easily.
Silvesk throws a jab but it's blocked by Boom.
A punch combination from Silvesk misses.
Boom displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Silvesk throws out the jab.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Boom tries to close the distance and clinch up but Silvesk swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Silvesk displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Boom.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Boom Boom. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Silvesk swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Silvesk digs a good body shot into Boom's ribs.
Silvesk will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Silvesk scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Boom doesn't seem bothered though.
Boom moves in looking to clinch but Silvesk pushes him off.
Boom swings for the body but Silvesk moves out of range.
Silvesk misses with a hook.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Some wild striking there from Silvesk.
Silvesk throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Silvesk swings away with a body shot that misses

and Boom counters by moving into the clinch.
Knees in the clinch landing for Boom.
Silvesk is trying to break free.
Silvesk is trying to break the clinch but Boom is controlling him.
Boom unloads a knee to the mid-section. Silvesk lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Boom ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Boom no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Boom manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Silvesk is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Boom scoring with strikes but Silvesk is staying in there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Silvesk keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Boom lands with some strikes.
Silvesk is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Silvesk in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.


That has opened up Andersen Silvesk's cut even more.
Boom fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!


Silvesk is rocked!


Andersen Silvesk's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Andersen Silvesk's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Boom Boom!
