The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaj tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cardona swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kaj misses with a double jab.
Kaj tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kaj has a takedown stuffed.
A slapping leg kick lands for Kaj.
Cardona scores with a takedown into Kaj's guard.
Cardona slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Cardona works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Kaj is staying active underneath Cardona, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Kaj pushes Cardona off but Cardona dives into side control.
Kaj tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
Cardona thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Kaj tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cardona wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Cardona looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Kaj tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Cardona sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Kaj taps out!
