Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Peter Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul's entrance music is DMX. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Jackson's choice of entrance music: Angry Johnny. Peter Paul had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 146.2lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paul looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Nice sprawl there from Jackson as Paul shoots in.

Paul bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Jackson is looking to reverse the position.
Jackson is trying to control Paul's posture but Paul avoids it.
Jackson is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
You can see the frustration on Jackson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Paul looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Jackson tries to improve position but can't.

Paul working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Paul is breathing heavily.

Paul swings around for an armbar but Jackson sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Paul's guard.

Jackson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Jackson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Paul pulls his leg out and moves away.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jackson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Paul has an active guard here but Jackson has managed to pass into half guard.
Jackson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Paul keeps working.

Jackson decides to return to a standing position.
Paul throws a series of strikes that have Jackson backpedaling.
Paul looks for a takedown but Jackson sprawls well.
Paul blocks a head kick by Jackson.
Nice shot by Paul.
Jackson stuffs the takedown.
Paul fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Jackson checks it well.
Jackson tries to clinch up.
Jackson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Paul pinned against the cage. Paul gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Jackson looking to sit in guard and control but Paul gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Paul is fighting to break Jackson's control of his arms but Jackson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Paul won't allow Jackson to get back to his feet.
Paul is pushing down on Jackson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jackson is fighting to maintain full guard but Paul has managed to sneak the leg through.
Paul is looking to take a break and control but Jackson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Jackson is trying to maintain the position but Paul is very close to passing his half guard.
