Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bob General (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Bob General has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bob General!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steve Rogers!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
General throws a head kick but Rogers moves out of range.

General darts in and clinches Rogers up against the cage.
General with a knee to the head.
General prevents the takedown attempt.
General landing knees to the body.
General lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Rogers blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Rogers jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as General walks away with a smile on his face. Rogers gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

General rushes Rogers and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
General misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Rogers.
General wants a takedown.
General throws a knee to the head but misses.
General looking to throw knees to the head but Rogers is blocking nicely.
General leaning his opponent against the cage.
Rogers blocks the elbow strike.
Rogers is working for takedown but General is calmly controlling the position for now.
Bob General has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Rogers.

General pulls guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rogers thows a big elbow that misses.
General is looking to stand up but Rogers isn't so interested in that idea.

Rogers stops General from standing up.

Rogers drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and General dives on top into guard.
Rogers preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
General in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
General wants to get up but he can't break Rogers's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
General throws a strike but Rogers rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
General keeping full guard, as Rogers tries to pass.
Rogers looks gassed!
Rogers prevents General from getting back to his feet.
Rogers trying to control but General is working from the bottom.

Rogers is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

General clinches up with Rogers and pushes him back against the cage.
Come on Rogers - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
General misses with a knee strike.

General breaks from the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - General looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

General scores with a takedown into Rogers's guard.
Rogers looking to control.

General missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
General not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
General wanted to stand there but Rogers had control of the position.
General trying to control the position from guard on top but Rogers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

General stands and steps away. Rogers gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

General drives through and clinches with Rogers against the cage.
Rogers gets underhooks to prevent General's takedown attempt.
General tries a knee to the head but Rogers blocks it.
General with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Rogers blocks a body shot from General.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob General dominated that round.
That's time! General's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Rogers feints and as General raises his hands in defense, Rogers changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Rogers postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! General is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Rogers, into his guard.
Rogers keeping moving, preventing General from controlling successfully.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rogers is on top in guard.
Rogers stops General from standing up.
Rogers wants to pass the guard but General is keeping the position.
Rogers is breathing heavily.

Rogers has gone for a leg lock! General slips out almost immediately though and dives into Rogers's guard.
General trying to control the position from guard on top but Rogers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
General trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
General throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rogers works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

General decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Rogers, up you get!

General with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

General looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rogers is one step ahead there.

Rogers drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and General dives on top into guard.
General has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
General works a leg free and moves into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Rogers blocking the ground and pound attempt from General.

General wants to stand up but Rogers is controlling the position.
Rogers is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

General is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Rogers as he works his way to full guard.
General throws a strike but Rogers rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Bob General will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Rogers tries to score a power double leg takedown but General sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rogers somewhat.
General clinches but Rogers breaks the clinch

and Rogers counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rogers.

General lands an elbow inside that Rogers shrugs off.
Rogers fails to pull the fight into his guard.
General tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Rogers avoids it.
Rogers drops to a knee looking for a takedown but General gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Bob General has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Rogers.

Rogers takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
General landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

General manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Rogers wants to control but General passes into side.
Rogers tries to bench press General off him but General keeps the position.

General has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

General tries to clinch up but Rogers circles away and keeps his distance.

General throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Rogers tries to clinch but General is having none of it.

and General counters by clinching up.
General misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Rogers.

General tries a knee to the head but Rogers blocks it.

Steve Rogers has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Bob General is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
