Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Big M (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Valdemar Kosonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Kosonen's choice of entrance music: Mad Sin - Burn and Rise . Big M has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
M is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
M throws a body punch but Kosonen moves out of range.
Kosonen shoots in but M avoids the takedown attempt easily.
M tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kosonen paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kosonen is defended easily by M.
M tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

M wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Kosonen is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. M doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kosonen.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kosonen lands a nice short elbow.

Kosonen passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for M!
M can't escape the position.
Kosonen is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But M has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from M!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kosonen has his foot on M's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. M works his way back into a safe position though.

Kosonen is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. M can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Kosonen looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kosonen is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, M has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Kosonen is looking to take M's back but instead M gets back to half guard. Nice work.

Kosonen with the ground and pound but M uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Kosonen postures up in M's guard and throws a big left but M blocks it.
M kicks Kosonen off and gets to his feet.
The fighters circle momentarily. M darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Valdemar Kosonen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kosonen drops back, looking for a kneebar! M looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. M looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from M!
