Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, santana machida!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Ren Mimura and Kenichi Hosakawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Booger takes a kick to the side of the head.
A punch combination from Booger misses.

machida rushes Booger and presses him up against the cage.
Booger avoiding damage as machida throws knees to the body.
Booger is trying to work for a single leg takedown but machida pulls him back up using the underhooks.

machida manages to break the clinch.

machida closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Booger tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but machida wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Booger is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked machida off and has taken his back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Booger is trying to stick to machida's back but machida is turning into Booger. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Booger's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by machida.
machida postures up and lands a big shot to Booger's brow.
Booger is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
