The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

bitty gets caught flat footed, as Wiggums shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Wiggums tries to stand but bitty is controlling from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
bitty not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Wiggums might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Wiggums looking to sit in guard and control but bitty gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Wiggums cracks bitty with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Wiggums slips a nice elbow through bitty's hands, connecting with bitty's forehead.

Wiggums is nestled in close to bitty, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Wiggums got a little sloppy there for a moment and bitty has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wiggums has managed to get both his arms back between bitty's legs - danger averted.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

bitty unloads with some shots from mount but Wiggums bucks and avoids them well.
bitty lands a big shot there that rocks Wiggums but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
