PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kaarlo Kyroskoski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takuma Sakazaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kaarlo Kyroskoski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Takuma Sakazaki!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kyroskoski shoots in looking for a takedown. Sakazaki tries to sprawl out of it but Kyroskoski keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sakazaki manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Sakazaki closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Sakazaki looks to land a strike but Kyroskoski avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kyroskoski moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

and Sakazaki counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Kyroskoski bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sakazaki's guard.

Sakazaki is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Kyroskoski changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Sakazaki fights it off and pushes away nicely.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Takuma Sakazaki showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Kyroskoski is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sakazaki knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
