The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dean fails with the takedown.
Dean throws a nice looking combination but Straw bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Dean avoids a punch combination nicely.
Dean misses with a jab, cross combination.
Dean needs to keep his hands up - Straw had a free shot at his head there.

Straw tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Dean wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Straw wants to control but Dean postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Straw lands a glancing blow to the side of Dean's head.

Dean moves out of range as Straw strikes.
Straw throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dean's waist but Dean gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Straw off to one side.
Straw changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dean tries to avoid it but Straw manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dean to the ground. Dean escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Straw lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Dean misses with the combination.
No luck for Straw with that takedown attempt.
Eddie Dean has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eli Straw.

Straw tries to close the distance and clinch but Dean swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Straw shoots in but Dean avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Straw rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dean moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Dean lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

and Dean takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
A left and a right from Dean both land. Nice combination.

Dean misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Dean lands a nice leg kick that just misses Straw's sensitive parts.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
